About Me

A calm, collaborative approach to counseling

"My goal is to help you feel more grounded, balanced, and in control of your day-to-day life."

I enjoy working with people who are ready to make a positive change. With 18+ years of experience, I've supported teens, college students, and adults facing anxiety, depression, and ADHD, as well as anyone looking for more balance in their lives.

I'm a certified DBT therapist, and I also draw on CBT, motivational interviewing, and person-centered therapy. Together we spot unhelpful thinking patterns, build healthy coping skills, strengthen self-esteem, and sharpen problem-solving, so you can regulate your emotions and work toward your goals.

I earned my master's in mental health counseling from UMass Boston and have worked in both school and clinic settings. Above all, I value building a strong, trusting relationship and meeting you where you are. If you're thinking about starting therapy, I'd love to hear from you.

My Approach

There's no one-size-fits-all

Everyone comes to counseling from a different place. I don't steer people toward a set path. I start by understanding where you are right now, including how you're feeling and what you're coping with, and we move forward in a direction and at a pace that is comfortable for you.

Method

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

A practical approach that helps you notice how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connect, and build skills to shift patterns that aren't working for you.

Method

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Skills for managing intense emotions, tolerating distress, staying present through mindfulness, and strengthening your relationships.

Method

Motivational Interviewing

A collaborative conversation style that helps you explore your own reasons for change and build the confidence to act on them.

Method

Client-Centered Therapy

A warm, nonjudgmental space where you lead. I listen closely and follow your goals rather than imposing an agenda.

I draw on these approaches and tailor them to the person in front of me.

Good to Know

Frequently asked questions

What happens in the first session?

We'll talk through what's bringing you to counseling, you can ask me anything, and we'll start building a plan together. There's no pressure to have it all figured out.

How does telehealth work?

Sessions take place over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You'll need a private space and a stable internet connection.

Is school-based counseling confidential?

Sessions in school settings follow the same confidentiality standards as private practice, with a few limited exceptions required by law. I explain this fully before we begin.

Who do you work with?

I work with teens, college students, and adults, both individually and as couples.
